Top Tips For Freelancers

Here are our Top Tips For Freelancers:

Be proactive…

when it comes to keeping your consultant up-to-date with your availability. Here at Source we have our Wednesday email update, but when your situation changes it’s important to keep your consultant in the loop.

Respect…

the pencil booking rule! It’s there for a reason and believe me it does help the world run a hell of a lot smoother for everybody involved.

Pay attention…

to your booking confirmation – read it thoroughly and get in touch if you have any queries before the booking starts.

Be proactive…

when you’re in your booking, ask for more work when you have completed what you have been given, make the client aware of any hidden skill set you may have which they could benefit from and just generally get involved. The client will love you for it!

Smile…

and be happy!

DON’T…

sit there on your mobile, respect the client and the full-time members you are working with.

DON’T…

sit there surfing the web between jobs – be proactive – get up and ask for more work or offer your services to other studio members.

DON’T…

turn up late! But if for some reason you are going to be late, let your consultant know in plenty of time so they can get in touch with the client and make them aware of it.

DON’T…

spend half the day outside smoking – use your common sense! We have had plenty of bookings pulled due to candidates popping out every hour and coming back stinking of smoke! Remember, when freelancing, every minute you are there needs to be accounted for!

DON’T…

create your own filing system, respect how the client works and follow the way they work – be flexible regardless of how unorganised it may seem.
