Events, seminars, webinars and get togethers are a great way to keep your mind sharp, ears twitching and mouth chattering about all the exciting new things you’ve discovered this year! Right now we’re celebrating Internet Week and the stalwart, big gunning advertising agency Mother is hosting a week of breakfasts that you can attend.
Internet Week Europe – breakfast with Mother
Monday: Get fully prepared for Internet Week with a bacon roll and coffee from the delectable Allpress. It’s open to everyone.
Tuesday: Meet a few of the finest tweeters including Diana in Heaven and What Katie Wore.
Wednesday: Hate your profile shot? Mother have enlisted Alan Clarke to give you a photo makeover
Thursday: Social Media breakfast quiz hosted by Sabotage Times’ James Brown.
Friday: Relax and have some coffees to fix your Thursday night hangovers.
And once you’ve enjoyed your brekkie……and if you’re a bit of a luvie, you can get yourself down to the Tate Modern. Amongst all the other great stuff there you’ll find a Gauguin exhibition from now until the 16th January.
Can you draw the internet?
Now that you’ve seen other people’s works of art, how about producing some of your own? Saint (digital agency part of RKCR/Y&R) has launched a competition around Internet Week Europe. They came up with the brilliant idea to challenge the creative industry and a group of 10 year olds to ‘Draw the Internet!’ If you want to enter, all you need to do is download the template
Finally……. D&AD President Lectures on Wednesday the 3rd November saw D&AD host a fast paced evening of speakers, restricted to 20 slides and 20 seconds a slide. The audience, as well as the great and the good from the advertising and other creative communications industry, also include a host of young up and coming talent looking for inspiration and Source’s own Marc Shelkin, Kristie Aked and Hannah Luckhurst!
Kristie commented that that “whether you are new to the industry or an experienced hand, the sound bites and insight into some serious players and their inspiration was…… inspiring!”…..Thanks Kristie!
That’s it for now!!!
