What Do Social Media Manager Jobs Involve?
The social media manager will be in charge of developing a social media strategy for their company and client, so that they can utilise the social networks and media platforms in a way that will best reach their target market and develop business for their client, whether directly or indirectly. Once a strategy has been developed and agreed upon, the social media managers would be responsible for implementing the strategy and co-ordinating with other areas of the team and the clients/company to ensure that the requirements are met, whether in terms of direct customer generation or increasing brand awareness.
In the process of implementing the social media strategy, the managers will also be responsible for maintaining the profiles on a day-to-day basis including ensuring that it is updated with fresh, original content and communicating directly with customers, answering questions and trying to reach new ones.

Social media managers are an integral part of any PR team’s digital operations with many larger companies hiring their own in-house social media managers to maintain their online profiles. This is has led to a huge increase in the number of social media manager jobs available over recent years, the wages offered to the skilled and experienced managers reaching in excess of £50,000. Generally speaking however, social media manager jobs will come with wages of between £22,000 - £30,000 per year.
