A rapidly growing start-up travel business bringing on-demand intercity travel to the UK is currently looking to add to its development team. As the business goes through a very successful period of funding, the product will be expanded outside of the UK in the future, with the service being unique in its own right; it stands to significantly change the way the travel service is currently provided, making more seamless and beneficial experiences to both users and operators.
I am assisting in the hire of a Full Stack Developer, an individual that is a particular fan of Laravel, as well as having real passion to explore the ever evolving world of technologies to implement where necessary as the product grows in the future. Moreover, this is a really great opportunity to take ownership of the technical aspects of this product as this particular role will give the option for the given hire to become the Lead Developer further down the line.
With that in mind, there will be responsibilities around technical ownership of the product including innovation and growth, leading and mentoring of other members in the development team, as well as communication with senior internal and external stakeholders.
But before all of that, the given Full Stack Developer will need to carry out the below initial responsibilities:
-Develop components and features of the digital ecosystem, in particular the customer, supplier and administration platforms
-Contribute to specification, planning and building of the requirement
-Continuously run QA and testing throughout a given process
-Rapidly deliver well thought out and robust web-based software to enable user ease of use and understanding, scalability and extensibility
-Work with the team to understand and contribute to discussions to derive best solutions
-Collaborating effectively with other members of the development as well as wider business
-Concise documentation of the application
-Contributing to overall architecture of the platform
-Reworking processes and elements of existing application
-Work with existing database structures
-Developing new standalone features of the platform
-Assisting support developers to resolve issues where needed
-Optimising platform for speed and scale
-Implementing and maintaining security and data protection
-Some management of hosting environment
-High levels of experience in building bespoke web-based applications
-Laravel or similar
-MySQL, MariaDB and stored procedures
-API integration, particularly with Google Location API
-Stripe or other payment process knowledge
-Bulk email service experience
-Task runners including Grunt and Gulp
-Continuous Integration expertise with Jenkins, Bamboo etc.
-Version control with Git
-Basic Linux administration experience
-Experience with Amazon Web Services
-HTML5 and CSS3 (SASS)
-Vue.js or similar would be great
-High expertise in Responsive Web Design
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a hard-working, fun and highly experienced team. This product is already turning heads and those involved already are very excited for the future.
