Technical Director / London / Permanent / £85-95k

Due to the growing size of the business and continued success, I am now assisting in the hire of a Technical Director.

Such an individual is required to have the technical expertise to work across technical delivery teams and provide direction to the clients on technology. One will oversee the technical aspect of a range of scaled projects and act as a go between for technology and other departments, as well as being the main contact technically with clients.

One will need to have particular expertise in .NET technologies, as well as being innovative and exploratory of other technologies when required, a background in .NET content management will be very advantageous.

As a Technical Director I am seeking someone who has engaged and built collaborative relationships with all the internal multi-disciplinary teams. One will also be required to mentor, lead and manage teams, as well as introducing new technologies and delivering innovative solutions.

The role requires the ideal hire to also have the technical expertise to provide support where necessary. Ultimately, as a Technical Director, one will be responsible for working with the Head of Technology to set and guide the development practices and lead the technological components across a wide variety of projects.

-Planning and preparation of projects, including scoping and estimation
-Overseeing technical teams throughout the project life-cycle
-Having an understanding of and signing off core application code to satisfy technical, functional and non-functional requirements of all assigned projects
-Helping to manage and monitor resource requirements for projects
-Giving input on and helping to promote development procedures, methodologies and standards
-Advising on and recommending new technological approaches
-Help to coach, mentor and give technical advice to developers
-Engaging in new business activities such as pitching and responding to RFPs / RFIs
-Liaising with clients to represent the business from a technology perspective

Skills required:
-Excellent all round technical ability, from a .NET background
-Technical architecture, identifying solutions prior to starting development
-Technical planning, task breakdowns and initial estimation, as well as keeping such up to date as a given project progresses
-Client facing, presenting technical solutions to clients, working with client representatives to understand requirements etc.
-Team focus, working with project management to understand project limitations and balancing those with the whole team
-Ability to investigate and analyse information and to define conclusions
-Ability to learn and support new systems and applications
-Experience of working in an agency environment
-Extensive experience of leading teams and working within a team environment that is process-oriented and deadline-driven
-Ability to lead technical teams from requirements definition through to delivery and support
-Good understanding of Agile methodologies
