Working in partnership with my client, a Creative Agency, in the appointment of a Technical Lead to join, define and direct a growing technology team. One will play a significant and integral role in defining and delivering client projects across all accounts. Most importantly, the role will provide long-term strategic vision, direction and leadership for the future growth of the technology team.

The given Technical Lead will get the opportunity to work with brands from the Entertainment, Communication and Consumer Goods industries to deliver the highest quality digital products across a wide range of channels and emerging technologies, including web, mobile, out of home and digital at retail.

One will be passionate about technology, have a keen understanding of how to deliver robust technology solutions in a fast paced environment and be able to work with the Head of Technology to provide a credible capability across the agency. Furthermore, the given Technical Lead will be a technology generalist with a broad understanding of a wide range of different technologies and tiers, as well as being a technical specialist with deep knowledge in several specific areas. One will be an in-house technology expert, providing consultation and education to the Technology team as well as the wider agency.

Skills required:
-Thorough understanding of web technologies and underlying infrastructure
-Possess an established set of core technical capabilities, but always open and willing to learn new technologies and concepts
-Approach projects with a fresh view to explore a range of possible solutions
-Ability to design and architect the technical solution to a wide range of projects and challenges
-Strong understanding across the full stack of technology tiers and how to plan a graceful solution based on business requirements and client needs
-Being fully involved with requirements gathering, technical specifications and feature/function definition
-Strong presentation development skills using HTML/CSS/JS
-Wide knowledge of relevant modern front end frameworks, libraries and design patterns
-Extensive understanding of HTML5 and modern browser capabilities
-Expert knowledge of responsive design, optimisation and SEO
-Solid backend development capabilities, specifically with PHP and MySQL
-Familiarity with MVC design pattern considerations and corresponding code frameworks along with other industry standard OOP design patterns
-Good Dev Ops skills, specifically within a LAMP/MAMP technology stack
-Defining and maintaining server environments, setting up build and deployment processes
-Planning for high performance through scalability and load balancing
-Anticipating security and technical risks, proactive troubleshooting of network issues
-Implementation of SSL certificates
-Proficient in the assessment, selection and implementation of developer tools, environments, utilities, code repositories and task management tools
-Ability to optimise workflow, implement automation and continuous integration
-Create consistency across environments and replicate locally for developers
-Define deployment schedules to tag, branch, review, test and promote code from Dev through to Production environments
-Experience working with project managers and resource managers to plan projects, estimate level of effort, divide up work streams, allocate tasks
-Provide oversight, leadership and mentor developers through full project life cycle
-Monitor project progress
-Familiarity with agile project management concepts

Skills desired:
Familiarity with any of the below would be a great advantage, or at least a willingness to learn and incorporate into the role:

-Mobile development, device integration, native apps, iOS, Android, iBeacons, Bluetooth, App Store deployment, cross-platform-compilers
-Electronics, circuitry, fabrication, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensors, physical-digital integration
-Devices and emerging peripherals, VR, wearable tech, drones etc.
-Any knowledge of WebGL, Unity3D, or other 3D engines
-Additional programming languages such as .Net, C#, Ruby, Java, C++
