Web Developer / South London / Permanent / £40-45k
Working with a creative agency that is highly regarded for delivering award-winning, engaging brand stories and consumer experiences for global businesses in the entertainment, telecommunications and food & beverage industries. Such work has been delivered in the form of websites, micro sites, email and digital display campaigns, mobile applications and experiential installation technologies.
The digital side of my client has grown over the years, and now comprises of 2 x Project Managers, 2 x Digital Designers, 1 x Motion Graphics Designer as well as Account Management. I am working in partnership with my client to make a hire for a full-time Web Developer.
As the sole developer within this digital team, you will have technical ownership over a variety of deliveries, as well as an environment to learn new skills in, for example Laravel, which is heavily used for a number of ongoing builds and Greenfield projects.
You will participate in the execution, planning and the creative conceptual phases of projects to deliver robust digital experiences across web and mobile, and will be highly collaborative in doing so, working closely with other disciplines within the team as well as internal and external stakeholders.
Being a sole developer really provides scope for you to take control, within reason and feasibility, of technologies implemented into builds, and though there is no defined timescale, the digital team will grow further in terms of numbers of developers, again giving another great opportunity relating to career progression.
-Expertise in front end technologies
-Server side integration
-Good understanding of PHP, with an eagerness to constantly develop new skills in this area
-Database management experience
-Strong knowledge of WordPress CMS
-Ability to implement code development processes
-Solid understanding of mobile web considerations, responsive layouts, mobile browser feature compatibility
-Knowledge and experience in delivering email and banner campaigns
-Ability to work with Project Managers to estimate and scope concepts, define a granular roadmap, predict potential risks and plan for contingencies
This role will require you to work autonomously with a creative approach to technical and logistical problem solving, as well as understanding the overall creative process and having that ability to collaborate with the wider digital team.
Moreover, you will have good stakeholder management skills, with an ability to interpret their needs and explain technical delivery challenges and provide adequate solutions to such.
You will gain a great environment for technical ownership working with my client, on a variety of digital deliverables working with a great, varied team with the potential of building a development team around you in the future.
