Our Charity 2017

Career change

This year we are proudly supporting Macmillan Cancer Support

The Social and Charity Committee is a combined force and so we try to incorporate ideas and events that span across both where possible. Most people find a way to donate some spare change and that is hugely appreciated, though above that we are hoping to donate not just spare change, but also our time to this great cause and in doing so, raise thousands but also awareness to this worthy charity.

So far we have raised…

£9,334,17

If you would like to support this great cause please donate to:

A little information on Macmillan:

At Macmillan, we know how a cancer diagnosis can affect everything. So we’re here to support you and help you take back some control in your life. From help with money worries and advice about work, to someone who’ll listen if you just want to talk, we’re here.

We are millions of people affected by cancer, supporters, professionals, volunteers, and campaigners. Together we are all Macmillan.

Each year, Source LF chooses a worthy cause to support and raise money for. Last year, we proudly supported Scoliosis Association UK

With a target set of £8,000, we raised…

£11,000!

Charity events for 2017:

This year we have several fund raising activities planned

Tough Mudder 6th May 2017

Tough Mudder is  a series of hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle race – mud run events designed by British Special Forces to challenge the toughest of the tough. 10-12 miles of mud and 20+ obstacles designed to drag you out of your comfort zone. With no podiums, winners, or clocks to race against, Tough Mudder isn’t about how fast you can cross the finish line. It’s about pushing yourself. It’s about teamwork, camaraderie, and accomplishing something extraordinary. Escape the Ordinary.

Hever Castle Triathlon – The UK’s second biggest triathlon    23rd September 2017

Hever Castle Triathlon has established itself as an essential destination for British and international triathletes and the mainstream media, for its picture postcard venue, elite action, age-group choice and festival atmosphere. Put simply, instant classic doesn’t do the Hever Castle Triathlon justice.

The races will commence with an open-water swim in the spectacular 38 acre Hever Castle Lake and River Eden, transitioning into the undulating cycle that takes athletes around a circuit through the High Weald of Kent, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and up to the stunning Ashdown forest for the longer distance races. The largely off-road run circumnavigates the estate and award-winning castle grounds before athletes make the dash to the tree-lined finishing chute beside the lake.

We will also have smaller, slightly less daunting plans such as

-       Grand National Sweepstake

-       Easter Egg Hunt

-       Great SourceLF Bake Off
